Through the ages, converse shoes have appeared to be the most popular brand of sneakers amongst young adults. This brand has been existent for so many years, and still it has not lost its style and attractiveness as its sales have continually grown for the past five years. During 1923, Converse was assigned to customize basketball shoes for the New York Bens, who were then the first ever African-American basketball team. In 1939, the two teams that played during the first-ever NCAA Championship game wore converse shoes. Initially, converse shoes, like the All Star Shoes, are only purchased in either white or black, but years after it first came out and with the shoes increasing in popularity, seven magnificent and stylish colors were added to magnify the fashion put forward by converse shoes . Indeed, the company was commended for such a move because several decades after, there had been a significant growth of demand for such colorful and unique converse shoes, a demand that exists up until now. 

Converse was generally a brand name for basketball shoes. During 1918, Charles H. Taylor, a well-known basketball player, patronized the use of canvas shoes that were made with rubber soles. Basketball is a court game that includes numerous running and arm movements. It was likely that players sought to look for shoes that enable them to move with vigor inside the court, and converse shoes had impeccably satisfied that need from the past to the present.

During the 80s, the Converse Company suddenly went out of business, and was eventually bought by Nike. The Nike Company decided to manufacture and produce the converse shoes in China for them to cut down the producing cost of the shoes.  

Nowadays, the converse shoes are worn by an entirely new generation. The majority of people who are constantly spotted wearing converse shoes are not entirely connected to basketball.
